RACKING E-Distribution looks at your data on you inventory, analyzes the amount of on hand inventory of each item, chooses the correct type of storage rack required by the movement of each item. An efficient multiple item or sku warehouse should have several different types of storage. An example would be selective racking, drive in racking, push back racking, and case flow racking. Selective Racking: Selective racking provides 100% access to all the pallets in the system made for items requiring 1-4 pallets inventory per item. Inventory is based on required inventory turns per year. Drive In Racking: Drive in racking provide storage for bulk inventory items usually having 30+ pallets inventory per item. Drive in racking is one of the most misunderstood and misapplied racking types. Push Back Racking: Push back racking provide storage density with the flexibility of mixing products within the same bay. Push back for items with 8 to 20 pallets per item. Push back provides excellent utilization of floor space since individual levels can be unloaded and be open for new incoming items. |
